Advocacy Committee Chair
Anushalie Dias Weerasinha, BA, JD
Anushalie Dias Weerasinha is the Chairperson of the MAHQ Advocacy Committee. The Advocacy Committee advocates MAHQ's newly revised Mission, Vision, and Values to external stakeholders. It helps to promote the goals and objectives of the organization through professional, community, legislative, policymaker, and other stakeholder outreach, as well as, partnership, and educational initiatives in various formats throughout the year. The committee also works to build relationships with legislative entities and within the local and regional communities within the state of Michigan.

Julie Janeway serves as the Vice-Chair of the Advocacy Committee. Julie works closely with the Chair of the Committee to help guide the focus on outreach in the community through professional and legislative relationships.
Bylaws Committee Chair

Julie Janeway is the Chairperson of the Bylaws Committee. The Bylaws Committee works with the Executive Committee and Education Committee, to ensure that the Board is establishing and maintaining proper and compliant governance practices, and that the by-laws remain in compliance with the state of the law.

Anushalie Dias Weerasinha serves as the Vice-Chair of the Bylaws Committee. Anushalie works closley with the Chair of the Committee to ensure MAHQ's bylaws and practices are in compliance with the state law.
Communications Committee Chair

Alyssa Spiteri serves as the Chair ot the MAHQ Communications Committee. The Communications Committee aids in the virtual information exchange with MAHQ members and general public through written, electronic, web, social media, marketing, advertising, promotion, and other means of communication. The Communications Committee oversees the following Sub-Committees; Communications Quality Improvement Project Sub-Committee, and Marketing Sub-Committee.

Raquel Sparkman serves as the Vice-Chair of the Communications Committee. Raquel works closely with the Chair of the Communication Committee to keep members engaged and informed through various means of communication.

Linda Weirauch, Alyssa Spiteri, and Ivy Oma collectively Co-Chair the MAHQ Education Committee. The Education Committee creates and provides resources to meet the educational needs of the MAHQ membership. Throughout the year, the Committee promotes the goals and objectives of the organization by creating and announcing educational opportunities provided in various formats. The Education Committee aims to create webinars, on-demand learning, CPHQ preparation, teaching and training with outreach programs, and publications. The Committee is responsible for the planning and execution of all arrangements for the Annual Meeting and Conference. The Education Committee oversees the following Sub-Committees; Annual Conference Planning Sub-Committee, Publishing Sub-Committee, and Education Quality Improvement Project Sub-Committee.

Michelle Bryant is the Chair of the MAHQ Executive Committee, serving in the President role. The Executive Committee is comprised of the four officers of the Non-Profit Corporation; President, President Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer. The Committee handles matters regarding the MAHQ Board of Directors, or the association as a whole, operating without MAHQ Board of Director approval. Tasks completed by this committee do not fall into the purview of the other MAHQ committees. The Executive Committee oversees the following Sub-Committee; Administration & Governance Sub-Committee.

Julie Janeway is the Vice-Chair of the Executive Committee, serving in the President Elect role. Michelle works closely with the Chair of the Executive Committee to oversee the efforts collectively made by the four officers for MAHQ and the MAHQ Board of Directors.
Membership Committee Chair
Rebekah Sims, MSA, LBBH, CPHQ
Rebecca Sims serves as the Chair of the MAHQ Membership Committee. The Membership Committee is responsible for oversight of membership applications, welcoming new MAHQ members, and both maintaining and increasing association membership. The Committee also works to build relationships with other state organizations and similarly focused healthcare quality improvement entities.The primary membership focus is with students, professionals, corporate relationships, local and regional entities, as well as, national representations.

Ivy Oma serves as the Vice-Chair of the Membership Committee. Ivy works closely with the Chair of the Membership Committee to advocate to new members wanting to become a part of MAHQ on various membership levels.
Nominations Committee Chair

Rebekah Sims is the Chairperson of the MAHQ Nominations Committee. The Nominations Committee recruits candidates for MAHQ Board of Directors positions, and facilitates the election for open Board positions. The Committee ensures that the nominations and election process for the Officers and Directors of the Board are conducted in accordance with the policy, procedures and by-laws of the organization.

Sondos Al-Hachim, Deana Hays, and Julie Janeway collectively Co-Chair the Student Development Committee. Together they help with the outreach to universities and students studying in various healthcare disciplines. The Student Development and Education Committee coordinates all programs related to student members. This includes the Student Ambassador Program, the Student and Academic Outreach Program, the Student Healthcare Quality Development and Training Program, the Student Leadership Program, the Internship Program, and several other education initiatives. The Student Development Committee works closely with students to develop professional skills, newtorking opportunities, volunteer experiences, and interpersonal attributes in which they can apply to their careers.

Alyssa Spiteri and Ivy Oma, founding MAHQ Student Ambassadors having served as a liason to Grand Valley State University, are the current MAHQ Student Ambassador Progam Leads. Together they helped develop the two tier program for both undergraduate and graduate level students in all health disciplines. The Student Ambassador Program is designed to offer students leadership and volunteer opportunities to help build their resumes at a state level. Students are offered exclusive oppotunities within the association to network and learn from a wide variety of healthcare professionals within MAHQ.
